An eye exam evaluates the structure and function of your eyes, looking for vision problems and eye conditions in need of treatment.
Eye exams are an important part of your overall health and wellness. Vision problems affect your quality of life, but with the right diagnosis and prescription, vision problems are easily corrected.
Advanced Eye Center is a one-stop-shop when it comes to eye care, managing vision, and medical and surgical eye needs.
When should I schedule an eye exam?
Advanced Eye Center provides eye exams for all people over the age of five. When you need an eye exam depends on your age and vision needs. If you wear prescription eyeglasses or contact lenses, you should have an eye exam every year. You also need an eye exam when you have vision changes.
In general, adults without vision problems should get a comprehensive eye exam at least once in their 20s and once in their 30s. The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) recommends that all adults have a comprehensive eye exam when they reach age 40.
After your eye exam at 40, your provider at Advanced Eye Center determines the frequency of your future exams based on your eye health, vision needs, and risk of developing eye conditions.
